Bass Pro Red Head Striker Elite Vest Review
« on: April 23, 2023, 11:14:19 AM »
After spending a few weeks using this vest I wanted to write a review.

The vest is $109 or $89 on sale.

Pro-
-It has a decent seat pad that is moderately comfortable.
-Box call pouch has sleeve to keep box from striker for silent movement.
Box call pouch has good retention- a call can’t slide out.
- Large game back. Plenty of room for decoys/sweatshirt
-Comfortable shoulder pads.

Cons
- Poor pouch layout. All pouches at your hips- nothing on the chest or shoulder straps.
- Box call pouch is horizontal. It interferes with the other pouch above it. (Left pouch)
- Right Pouch is the “catch all” pouch and gets easily cluttered. Poor retention, so everything falls out easily.
- You have to remove vest to unbuckle/buckle seat pad. Buckle is between your shoulder blades

I will hunt the rest of the season with it, but I have learned what I don’t want in a vest. I want positive retention/dedicated pouches for things- not a clutter drawer. The shoulder straps and chest area should have pouches/be useful.
