Opening Day: Western MD | Results

Arrived at my spot just before 4am and there were already 6 cars parked. Odd to me because I never saw one person the entire month and a half of scouting there.

Weather was overcast and mid 30s.

Never heard a single gobble, but heard more than a handful of owls and gunshots.

Packed up a little early to check out some other spots and a block away on a private farm I glassed 1 big Tom strutting for 4 hens. A BLOCK AWAY, frustrating to say the least.

Upon scouting more Public Land I came across good scrapes and tracks. Hopefully can score tomorrow.

Where are you hunting? I hunt Western MD also. My hunting buddy killed a nice 8" beard gobbler saturday morning near Mount Savage.

@340_Dart, a WMA in Washington County. Went out the other day after the rain. It was cold, heard more on a ridge but still no kill .
