between a jelly head and a tight wad for a 20 gauge, say in a rem. 870

just knowledge and tryn to understand.... thanks russ

There may be several technical machining differences between the two, but basically the Jellyhead has a longer extension beyond the barrel, ported slots for exhausting gases and stripping wads instead of just holes and is generally able to provide better pattern density than the Tightwad.

Internal make up, length differences and most of all, the cost to make.  Personally, for the 20 ga, I think the tightwad is the BETTER VALUE of the two.  To me one doesn't really out shoot the other.  I have patterned both and neither out performed your more solid chokes like Indian Creek in both my 870 20 ga.
