I had better luck in Oregon the year that I hunted turkeys there with a crow call for locating birds. That and a crow call works all day long not just at first and last light. We spent 10 days hunting that year and were on plenty of birds. We hunted the same area this past fall for elk and the turkey population in my opinion in Oregon is very healthy with plenty of long beards running around on public ground. Good Luck!!!
