Good Morning!!!

Hope and pray everyone is doing well today.

Most of us are men, who read the devotionals here. So, as men we like to fix things, as it is generally our personalities and characteristics, of how God made us. Have you ever attempted to fix something, and wished you had not?

In particular, as men, we are told in God's Word, of one thing, not to try to fix.

Proverbs 26:17(NKJV)

17 He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own
Is like one who takes a dog by the ears.

In reading the above scripture, one notices the wording "passes by". In other words, one was not there in the beginning. One has no idea of the complete information going on in the quarrel, therefore one can not make an accurate assessment as to what is fair or not.

What is the result of such meddling? It, the Lord tells us, is much like approaching a strange dog, head on, and reaching for it's face, and grabbing it by it's ears!! The dog is going to bite you!!

However, one might ask about accountability. Notice the wording "Not his own".  As Christians, were are to hold our brothers and sisters in accountability. Brothers and sisters are our own.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Word!! Help us, as men of Your grace and mercy, who want to tell others about You, to have the concernment of the things and people who we should be involved with in spreading Your Gospel. Let us not get involved in quarrels of others, where we do not belong. Guide us with Your Holy Spirit, in the matters You would have us to be in. Protect us, and our families, with Your hedge of protection. Continue to have mercy on us when we fail, and may our failures ultimately bring you glory and honor in Your ending.

For it is in Jesus name we ask, and claim these things, Amen!!

God Bless,
David B.
