Early morning mountain Gobbler 5-12-23

It was a great morning to hunt, calm, balmy, quiet. Hiked in to an old spot with a friend that normally has a late season bird or 2. Didn't hear any roost activity, so We trolled the ridges. Finally struck a gobble. Definitely not a Tom, had a Jake gobble. Played around with him for about an hour when another more mature gobbler sounded off. Some soft yelping, leaf scratching caught his curiosity. Unfortunately for him at 9:05 am, he took a nap. Came into to 30 yards right down my barrel. Nice big woods bird. Very enjoyable morning for sure. Sorry I just missed an upgrade for the team, but a good bird for these mountains and a real memorable hunt for sure. Be safe, thx
