Another almost today, I've been out 7 out of 8 days and hitting it hard. I'm in the action every day out.  Tomorrow is another day.

Thought I was going to close the deal today but the Turkey Gods said not so fast. Didnt realize when I set up this morning I was in his bedroom wow crap. He gobbled at my tree yelps nice and suttle then I heard him flying off the roost. Had 2 hen dekes out.  When I caught him behind a tree seemed close but something was saying dont shoot. He walked away from me and the day went on a hen cut through but no gobbler with her. Pondering the shot later on the hunt I pulled out my Laser range finder, that tree where I first glimpsed him was 52 yds thats a poke for me so Im glad I didnt shoot and maybe maim the bird later to become a Coyote lunch.Back at it in the morning. Our weather is finally taking a turn for the good. Horrible first 4 days rain ,cold 32° winds hitting 25 mph guys it was ugly but it,s turning around.
