Black mineral stained poplar
« on: March 05, 2023, 05:34:36 PM »
Show me your box calls with boxes made out of black mineral stained poplar. I think it'd be neat to have a box call made out of black stained poplar and a black colored lid like an ebony or blackwood. Call it, Black Death.

Here's a matched set of Cost-style calls I got from Marlin about 5 years ago.

Don't know if it still holds true...........but, at that time, he said these were the only calls he ever had to inscribe with a white pen.

A misfit.........also from Marlin.......

And a paddle caller from Steve Mann......

I’ve heard mineral poplar is much more dense than regular poplar.
