Sx4 w/.680 Carlson
« on: February 25, 2023, 08:32:22 PM »
Some patterns I shot today with my new sx4 3.5 26” barrel and Carlson .680 choke. All shots were 40 yards. Temps were around 40 degrees, wind fairly calm. Shots were standing off hand.

Sure wish there was a better way to post pics. This tapatalk is wonky. Nothing spectacular in the
patterns, magblends did the best. Choke is just a plain .680, no ports or wad catchers, just had it
laying around. Tried my factory browning .640 with a couple loads, but it didn't shoot well in this gun.
First time shooting this gun, looks like I might need a little better choke, but I don't want to go too tight
as I'm sticking with bead, as it shoots pretty much on.

This is his sx4 with the same choke and the 1-3/4 1,200fps load mine was the 1-7/8 1050 shell.

Looking good Justin! I just picked up some Longbeard 3.5 #5's and have another choke to
try out. Hoping to be able to shoot it next weekend. I will post up the patterns. Good luck to you and your son on your opener!
