Push pin kill thread
« on: May 15, 2022, 09:57:33 PM »
Guys I thought I would start a kill thread for turkeys killed with any make Pushpin , if any of you get something with any push pin you don't mind sharing post it up here !

IMO pushpins are the "sleeping dragon" of the turkey woods.. I've done calling on these that is beyond describing...
Killed this one at 6 in the afternoon ..I nearly got him the weekend before , he had a full cadre of hens with him constantly , I gave him a fast sharp cutting sequence from a Macassar and he lost his cool ...ran right in towing the flock behind him

I made several Macassar calls this spring , this call was a customers I "tested " hung onto it for a few days I had seller's remorse as usual ...the test was (successful)  ...I killed this eastern gobbler with the same fast cutting at 12:30 a pair ran right up ..sneak in quiet floor them with aggressive calling ...move on if nothing ...

I had to eventually chase of the second gobbler ..he kept pecking at his (gone) buddy

I usually wait for the birds to" do Thier thang" start gobbling on Thier own , a yelp or two ...cluck at them a whole bunch cause that's what the birds do around my neck of the woods ...except ...nothing , no gobbles , and I know they are in there , so at 9 am I busted out with a steady fighting rattle accompanied with fast cutting ... look who invited himself to the party ..a nice 3+ year Osceola gobbler ...

Both my birds this spring in Ohio and PA came in because of Shannon's Macassar Push button ...had lots of responses to the call as well when others wouldn't work

This was back in 2014. I've shot a bunch calling them in with a Knight and Hale Mossy Oak camo push pin model 150. I remember when push pin calls
were considered calls for a kid. I still laugh at those guys.
They call him...Kenny..Kenny

Here’s one that fell victim to the soft clucks and purrs that OG builds into those pretty boxes. First bird with the new call.

A few clucks from the OG push pin and a few yelps from the Buckner trumpet done him in this morning.
