Stubborn Bird
« on: April 28, 2022, 10:22:13 AM »
We have been going back to the spot where I shot my Longbeard to try and get the other bird that's there.  This guy is roosted just over the second ridge every morning gobbling his head off.  On Tuesday he flew down and worked away from us ( While constantly gobbling) towards a small field.   This morning we set up in the corner of the field and sure enough he works up the hill away from us in the woods (while constantly gobbling again!)

Looks like a chess match again and we are losing so far.   Going back tomorrow morning and we are going to split up and take the corner of the field and the woods at the same time.   One of us will kill him!

Went back today and he's gone!!   Not a single bird.   They must have spread the fields with that round up stuff yesterday and pushed all the birds out.   I could see the combine tracks through all the fields.  >:( >:( >:(
