Which choke would you try next?
« on: April 18, 2022, 08:34:44 PM »
I’ve got a 12ga 870 with a 26” barrel. I will be shooting 3” Longbeard #6s. So far I’ve tried the following chokes and these are the 10” numbers I got at 40 yards. Looking to get a bit better than the IC that is currently in the lead. What choke would you try next?

Kicks GT (.655) - 110 hits
Jellyhead (.660) - 81 hits
Indian Creek (.665) - 154 hits

Also just for the record, I tried #5 Longbeards through each of those chokes as well and never got better numbers than the #6s. Sticking with the 6s because I have a large supply of them. Just looking for the choke that will pair best with them and I’ll be satisfied.

Give the primos tightwad .660 a try. It shoots excellent out of my 870 and 11-87. Just patterned the 11-87 last night with 3" LB XR 1 3/4oz 6's and shot 202 in the 10" at laser ranged 40yrds

Agreed, shoots the best from my 11-87 and 870 SuperMag with the Remington Super Full a close second.
