I just got off phone with a guy that is selling this gun,It is in "mint" shape with maybe a box of shells through it. He says its a 25" barrel?.Mossy oak breakup,normal stock..I am going tonight to buy it. It has double bead,It isnt drilled and tapped. I have a man coming to buy a rifle from me later this afternoon, I seen this gun a few days ago and knew I was going to buy it, if it was still for sale in a week or so, It just works out that I am selling a $1500 rifle today and I don't want to lose out on this gun.

I couldn't pass It up, the last one I seen was going for $2000 up here. How many of you guys know exactly which model this is, and have one?

Rem sp-10,25" barrel, Mossy oak breakup,dual bead and regular stock.

I have tried to post pictures but it wont let me, this forum is a nightmare to get pictures posted sometimes.

This is not the picture of actual gun,but from all I can see, is the exact model of the gun I am going to buy later.

Alright! I'm kinda excited for you. I just love all things 10ga. Opening day is tomorrow here in MO and I just opened the safe and got out the Ithaca Mag 10 Supreme grade with grafted on 30" SP10 barrel. It's so long that I can't fit it under the safe's upper shelf with the .705" Hastings extended tube installed. The SP10 waterfowl models came with either a 26" or 30" barrel. There was a turkey model with a 23" barrel. I can't imagine the muzzle blast with a 23" barrel and unprotected ears.

I thought it was a 23" in pictures before I called him and talked to him but he says its a 25", so I assume its either 23" or 26" because I have never heard of a 25",  but maybe there is.  He says its in mint shape,so I am going around 6pm,its a 40 minute drive so I should be home by 730-8pm. If I buy this, my buying is done for awhile, I am already happy with my growing collection,but I wanted an sp-10 for 5 years and I just wasn't willing to fork out $2000 for the last one, I offered him what this guy is asking for his, so I always had my own "budget" on what I was willing to pay for one.

If the gun is "mint" like he says,I'll pay for it,but if it isn't "mint" I am going to offer him what I feel it is worth, I am not going to low ball him. I would never drive out of my way to do that to someone but i will only pay what I feel the gun is worth.

It comes with a mod, and an x-full, or full choke from what he told me on phone. This would complete my 10 gauge collection.

This is the same guy I lost out on a rem 1187 12 gauge nwtf a few weeks back,somebody seen it before me. I knew I'd have a chance with this one,seeing as Its a 10 and nobody really wants these anymore,maybe the odd goose hunter. I have been goose hunting for 30 years and never seen anybody and we have a ton of area and oppurtunity to hunt fields in my 2 hour radius using a big 10. I am sure there is a few kicking around.   I'll be using it for geese and gobblers.

I realize you said that the picture you posted is not the actual gun but the barrel in the pic doesn't look like a 26" barrel. On the 26" from the forend nut forward there should be 5 vents in the rib. On the 30" there's 7. The 23" has 2 vents.

It looks like 5 vents, in the picture from the actual gun, and that picture I posted, I just copied and pasted it from online because it said it was 25" and its the same camo. So, then it looks like a 26" on the gun I am buying, which makes way more sense to me than 25".

I just checked my old 1999 & 2000 Remington catalogs and they have the exact gun you posted a picture of: camo, barrel length, 4 vents from the forend nut forward. OAL was 42.5" with 23" barrel. In my 1995 Remington catalog the SP10 is pictured with only two vents in the rib forward of the forend nut on the 23". In no catalogs I have on hand under the "extra barrels" section is the 23'' available for purchase, only the 26" and 30".

I believe its a 26" barrel,I'll be able to figure out the year as well when I type serial number in, I think its a 2003-2005 model but I could be wrong, I have been looking through some Remington catalogs online here today. I have a 2004 Rem 1187 sp-t 3.5" 23" mossy oak break up 12 gauge and a 1993 Rem 1187 sp-t 3" 21" greenleaf 12 gauge.

I just bought one just like the one you are about to get. you definitely are looking at the 23 inch barrel version.

I also have a wood/blued SP10 with the 26 inch barrel and the barrel actually tapes out at 25". 25 and 26 inch barrel is one and the same.

The guy I buying from must have measured it then, if he says its a 25", your picture looks like a shorter barrel, I am not sure why I cant save the picture and then upload it on here, It has let me before. I have tried 3 times now. It won't make a difference to me either way, but I hope it is a 23". If the gun is as stated I am coming home with it. They just are not common, this is only the 2nd sp-10 in camo I have seen in 5 years, the first was $2000 and was obsession camo, it lasted less than a week.

The last 2 camo guns I have seen sell on Gunbroker sold for 2100 and 2300 in excellent condition. One with a few battle scars sold for 1500 last week. I am torn between keeping or selling mine. I need a new rifle more than I need the shotgun and would make a huge profit on selling it but man it sure does feel good when you pick it up and look down the barrel.

I have sold about $10 000 in rifles the last year, I really do not use a rifle for that much hunting, I kept my .35 rem and sold all my levers and a few bolts. I maybe use a gun for 3-4 days for whitetail, I carry my bow for the majority of the 3 months every fall, I am a bowhunter at heart, and my muzzleloader for 3-4 more days. I had purchased 7-8 nice rifles over the last 5-6 years and I sold them when they were at peak profit,which at the time was not something I had planned but, I probably cleared $6 000 in selling them. I won't miss them either, I kept my hunting rifle.

I'd rather buy shotguns, I use them way more. All my kills are under 80 yards with a gun, I use a shotgun sometimes as well. I am all bush where we hunt. It isnt like out west where its all long haul shooting.

If I am reading the serial # and the Remington online code correct, and I think I am, it is a 1992 model, that is incredible,as this gun looks like it was new in box, yesterday. It came with a full and a modified choke. I am super happy with my purchase. I am going to add a set of fiber optics and look for an aftermarket turkey choke and a real nice custom sling for this one.  I can't seem to get the Remington 1992 catalog to download to see for sure right now.
