Retay 20ga Turkey shotgun
« on: April 11, 2022, 08:52:15 PM »
Any of you guys have the Retay 20 ga with the 22in barrel. If so, how does it shoot ?I bought one and it shot about 18 in low at 25 yds , sent it back to Retay , waiting to see what can be done .

What did Retay say about it when you were sending it back? I had one with the 26” barrel and it shot that low at 30 yards. I was shooting Apex “9’s.  I emailed Retay, told them what it was doing, and they said they’ve seen a drop with TSS like that. I put a red dot on it and ran out of elevation adjustments. I got so frustrated that I got rid of the gun.

I hope your 20G shooting poorly is a fluke and Retay fixes you up quickly.  Your post is a bit troubling as I just picked up a 20g all black synthetic with a 26" barrel but haven't fired a round through it yet.  I'm planning on running some 7.5 Apex shells through it this weekend.  The response from Retay about "TSS shooting low" doesn't make any sense to me.  The shot are leaving the barrel at speeds above 1,000 feet per second...there should be little to no drop at 40 yards or closer.  I hope things work out for you.

I bought one last year the 20 gauge turkey Marsai mara, the thing will flat out shoot! Stock full choke was the demise of 3 gobblers between my son and I. It's my favorite 20 gauge to carry . I hope this all worked out.

Update onyour Retay
They sent it back, with a short list of things they replaced, it shot better but still wasn’t what I was looking for, sent it down the road.

Did it not shoot high enough to meet poa, or were there some other things you didn't like? Just curious what were the dealbreakers, and what gun you moved on to.

Still shot just a little low for my liking , I have a Sx4 in 20 gauge , and recently bought another M2 in 20.
