Truglo Gobble Dot users durability experiences
« on: March 12, 2022, 07:34:56 PM »
Giving a Truglo 3 MOA Gobble circle dot a go this year was wondering what other owners/users of the TGGD sight experiences have been with the sights durability especially long term durability. It's currently sitting atop my 12ga 3.5" Benelli SN. Torqued the attachment bracket to the recommended 20-inch pounds and used Vibra-tight thread lock on the screws.

Have subjected it to about 20 12ga 3.5" WLBWR's and about 10 dove loads sighting in and practicing with it thus far and so far so good. REALLY liking the 3 MOA circle dot set up.

Thanks,
Art.

I have had one on my 835 for probably 8 years or so. Zero issues with 3.5" shells.

Thanks for the reply Happy.
That's great to hear as I really REALLY like the 3 MOA circle-dot reticle design. Much prefer it over the 2 MOA dot of my Sig Romeo 5.

As I said I've already subjected my new Truglo TD to at least 20 12ga 3.5" 2oz/#5 shells and 10 dove loads during its first range session where I sighted it in and practiced using it to become thoroughly capable with it.
It held up perfectly and adjusted spot on in relation to my adjustments.

There’s your litmus test!  If it’ll hold zero on that thing it’s good to go.

My brother has one on his 835 as well, also shooting 3-1/2” shells. Not one issue since he put it on. Gotta be 10 years I’d think, could be more

Thanks a great deal to all for the replies.
I liked the 3 MOA circle dot MUCH better for a dedicated turkey gun optic than my 2 MOA Sig Romeo 5.
My sons also not only like it better than the Sig they undoubtedly shot better in pre turkey season practice with it.

Every year before SWT, I set up some lawn signs with full color life sized turkey head/neck targets at varying distances and sharp angles from 20-50 yards and while they are sitting in our Browning turkey chairs I have them practice shooting.

IMO and IME you can not beat a red dot or micro reflex sight for turkey hunting.

Thanks again for the replies.
