Windage and elevation aggravation
« on: March 07, 2022, 07:04:02 AM »
So I can’t see worth a crap up close so I wear reading glasses.  When making windage and elevation adjustments on my red dots I have to wear my glasses to get the tiny screwdriver in the adjustment slot but have to take them off to line up the red dot with the POI downrange.  By the time I get my glasses off and get ready to make adjustments, often times the screwdriver comes out of slot forcing me to put my reading glasses back on to start over.  This really has a negative effect on my vibe.  Any pro tips for my problem?  Obvious solutions I’ve overlooked?

Sometimes it would be nice to have a second set of hands.. another thing i notice in sighting in these red dot's last week it don't hurt to have one of those little pen lights to see those little screw's either ... in making those adjustments.

I'm like you, need cheaters for everything these days. I have a pair of low profile which sit on the bottom of my nose so I can look over top them.

I have my shotgun secured in a shooting rest so I don't have to touch the gun. I can then look through the red dot lens, and with the screw driver walk the dot to get POA/POI zeroed.

Tonight I boresighted my Swampfox Kingslayer green circle dot.  I have an old gun rest with a rubberized vice on the front so I was able to work more hands free.  I like using the bore sight at night.  Got it dialed in so hopefully I won’t need to shoot my cheap 7 1/2s so many times up close.
