935 choke constriction
« on: March 01, 2022, 07:20:01 PM »
Hey 935 shooters, what choke constriction are you using?
I have the 935 turkey and plan to try the one that came with it using Apex 3inch #9 ,2-1/4 oz.this year.
Last year that choke did well with 3in #5 long Beards.

Thanks

I'm using an IC .675 currently with 3.5" 5 LB and it's throwing a nice pattern. I handload TSS for all my other gauge turkey guns, but don't see the need in this gun.

The Mossy 835 and 935's like chokes in the .670 to .676 for most loads if you want a tight pattern.  Pure Gold, Indian Creek, Stardot, SSX and several others are a Great place to start.  These chokes shoot Longbeards, Hevi-13's well.  If you want to shoot TSS, some will say use a little more open choke.

I shoot an 835 with 3 1/2 Hevi 13 7's and a .670 Pure Gold choke with devastating results.

My 935 loves the IC .675 with Winchester LBXR 3"5 Shot.

My 935 with a IC .675 and Apex 3" 2.25oz 9shot have 380 hits in the 10" of a Birchwood Casey at 40 yards. If you email me at chad.baker475@gmail.com I'll send you a picture of the target, because I can not for some reason post pictures.

I've got a 935 Magnum turkey with a 22 inch barrel and I'm running the Pure Gold choke
(.670 constriction) with a 3" load of Verdict ammunition TSS #8s. Or a 3.5" Long Beard XR # 6 shot (the 1050 fps load, it patterns better for me than the 1200 fps).
