Wingbone/Trumpet lip stopper

What does everyone use for the round lip stopper on your wingbone/trumpet calls? Looking to make a few wingbone and cane yelpers but need the right part for the lip piece. Thanks I'm advance!

Assuming you don't have a lathe to turn them, I've used rubber washers and I've used small corks from the craft store, but honestly I've just quit putting lip stops on Jordans and wingbones. Don't really seem to help or hurt on those calls for me. Can't remember the exact size of the washer but Ralph Permar still uses them on some of his low end Jordans. I'll try to go look here in a little while and see what size they are.

I know the ones Permar used on his cheaper Jordans were faucet washers. He'd turn you a good rubber lip stop for an extra $5, but he usually threw in a couple of those washers as well.

Wine corks

they shape easy with a Dremel tool and hand files, or just use hand files

You can buy test tube rubber stoppers with a center hole in it, they are tough to shape, but don't look too bad the way they are and work nicely.

I mostly use wine corks for my wingbones and Jordans. I like the traditional look and they work well.
Drill a small hole in the cork after you cut it to the desired length and thread it onto a long screw to act as a mandrel. Then you can put that into drill and use small pieces of sandpaper to shape it.
