Pot Call and Striker Storage?
« on: May 28, 2021, 05:22:05 PM »
Well there are only a couple days left here in Wi and I've slowly started putting some of my stuff away. I've begun to accumulate a fair number of strikers and pots. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for protecting them during storage? Are there any specific containers/holsters, etc. that one might suggest?

Thank You!

Drink koozies work really good. You can order these from Amazon or ebay

I keep all of mine in a large wooden drawer in a piece of furniture in the house.  The pots sit on a towel and I keep the strikers in Riker display boxes in the same drawer.  As long as they don’t bounce around and come into contact with too much heat, moisture or humidity you should be fine.

I do as Greg suggested and store my pots in drink koozies. I got the koozies for free at brew event, as all the manufactures/dealers were giving them away. For strikers purchased Glenda Green's striker holder/case, which works great

I store all my calls in bulk ammo containers, one for pot calls and one for box calls. Even have one for the extra stuff.

After reading through this thread I put all mine in coozies.  They work well for carrying and for storage.

Koozies for the pot calls for sure.

Sterilite plastic drawers, I like the three stacks of the roughly 12x13" drawers. Each drawer is about 2 1/2" thick, total stack is only 10" tall.  Each drawer can hold 18 pot calls in koozies, totaling 54 pot calls per rack. If you don't have that many, use a drawer for strikers and lay them on a shop towel in there. They're about $12 at Walmart and best storage option I've found.

Here are some pictures. I label the koozies with duct tape in regards to call maker/material/surface and any extra info usually contest info if was an entered call also color coded with white being second hand, and pink directly from the call maker.

All my pots are stored in koozies. Strikers are in Glenda's striker pouches.

All of mine are stored in Koozies with no problems and then i put them in large plastic containers with silica gel packs...strikers with calls go with calls, misc strikers go into separate container etc...
