It's turkey season, right?
« on: March 29, 2021, 11:31:39 AM »
Hey guys, are we having trouble hearing and connecting with the birds out there? We have had one gobbler posted here from this group of hired assassins and that is highly unusual. I know that the weather in Mississippi has been brutal with wild storm fronts rolling through with a monotonous regularity, but the sun shines once in a while.

Just checking on my peeps.

Cheers  ;D

In my area of SE NH, the birds just started strutting last week. Our weather is still a bit cold and the fields are still brown. Al

My stepson put 1 down during our youth season today with his 20ga. The thread is in general hunting it was a well earned bird.

went out 2 days for VA youth season.  Heard lots of birds but no luck.  Main season starts on saturday and I will definitely be out.

It’s been a strange start for sure. Birds are not gobbling where I hunt at all. I killed a 2yr old the first week and called up a really nice bird for a friend but other than that I can’t hear a bird.  Was in TN last weekend and only heard 1 bird and shoulda got him but he acted as goofy as any bird I’ve seen.  Headed back this weekend to hopefully find a willing bird.
Hoping whatever is going on will change soon and they will start acting right.

I'm off to SD tomorrow, Friday, to do a little scouting in a new area I have never hunted before. SD opens Saturday. It's early up here, but I need to get my butt out hunting and scratch this itch! Birds up here in MN. have been gobbling and strutting now for the past couple of weeks. It has been unseaonably warm this spring so far.

Yeah I finally killed some but due to weather and traveling I didn’t get all the required pics. They were not very good scoring birds so hopefully I will find a better one before season is out.
