Rejected Surfaces
« on: January 06, 2021, 10:33:27 PM »
I am the guy that builds some of Stumpy's surfaces, and I have some blemished parts that I feel like could be used for the right situation.
I don't ever want anyone to think I am trying to pawn off junk on anyone.  Some of these parts won't pass anyone's inspection, but I am very critical of these parts.  All the parts I sell to Stumpy are as close to perfect as possible.

My question is this...
Would any of you be interested in these blemished surfaces for a very discounted rate?
I don't really want to get into selling small batches, so I will probably lump these together in maybe 40-50 piece lots.

If there is some interest in this, I will gather everything up and get a good count.
If there is no interest, I will find something to do with them.

I also have some .080" thick surfaces that I drew up wrong.  They were supposed to be .090" and I dropped the ball.  The .080" stuff is blemish free, but I will still sell at a discounted rate.

I just don't want to go through all the trouble of gathering everything up and counting if there isn't any interest.

Have a good one.
Josh

Just by glancing at my shelves, I see something like this:
(Don't hold me to the quantities, as I haven't taken them down to count yet)

Raw aluminum surfaces (turned on a lathe both faces and OD....  7075 aluminum)
These are not tumbled or anything like that.  They are straight off the machine.
.080" x 3.250"  50 pcs $1.00 each
.080" x 3.470"  50 pcs $1.00 each

Anodized aluminum surfaces (media blasted one side and anodized flat black 7075 aluminum)
.080" x 3.250"  50 pcs $1.60 each
.080" x 3.470"  50 pcs $1.60 each

All the above is blemish free, it is just .080" thick instead of the normal .090".

The blemished stuff is going to take a few hours to get sorted out.
I may be able to sneak in the shop a little tomorrow and get a count, but my kids (4 and 7) have a SNOW DAY tomorrow so they are home from school/preschool.

I'm sorry for taking the easy way out here.  The original post was just to gauge interest before I spent any time organizing and counting.   I just didn't want to spend hours sorting through everything and there be nobody interested.

Hope this little bit of info helps.
More to follow.
Josh

All,
I have been doing a little cleaning and organizing today and I have gotten everything in a digestible format.

I think the best way for me to do this is to sell it in "lots".  I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I don't want to split these lots up right now.

"Reject Lot"  These surfaces were rejected for scratches and imperfections.  Most can be fixed with a little time and patience.  Some may only be suited for testing.
18 pcs 3.470" Anodized    Bead blasted one side only
11 pcs 3.250" Anodized    Bead blasted one side only
1 pc 3.470" Raw Aluminum
20 pcs 3.250" Raw Aluminum
$70 TYD for the "Reject Lot"

The following lots are not being used because they are .080" thick instead of the common .090".  The thickness is the only issue with these surfaces.

"Raw 3.250" Lot"
80 pcs.
$75 TYD

"Raw 3.470" Lot"
86 pcs
$80 TYD

"Anodized 3.250" Lot"
63 pcs
$80 TYD

"Anodized 3.470" Lot"
55 pcs
$70 TYD

I would also be willing to trade.
If you are interested, send me a PM with what you are thinking about trading.

Have a good one.

The “anodized 3.470” and the “raw 3.470 lot” are both sold.
