I have done this since day one of my time Turkey Hunting and the number of birds I have helped others get far exceeds my own number, through the last 33 years and Learn to Hunts, Youth Hunts, Mentored Hunts, Charity Hunts, and then hunting with Friends and others it all adds up. I normally always take them to my spots as I have birds scouted out already. Seasonally I will have 20-25 Toms scouted over the properties I hunt both on Public and Private, even some of those I meet through work, and my "Turkey University" Seminar Series I have given people tips on where to go on public lands I know where it holds birds.

That was a very good article... Hopefully it is accurate?

I will likely change over to TSS, simply because the "Hevi-Shot" materials are not longer to be found.

Saw this article on a different site and felt it was worth the read:

https://www.outdoorlife.com/hunting/podcast-the-truth-about-tss-turkey-loads/

Personally, I would rather see larger pellets with a lighter pellet density... I could be wrong, but I feel like a single #6 Hevi-shot pellet will create a larger wound channel than a single #9 TSS pellet, and for the ranges I am shooting, I am not too concerned about penetration... I feel there is a balance between density, pellet size, and pellet count... I feel that the density of these loads is a bit over-played for what we are using them for.

If I could find something, I would love a 1 5/8 oz load of #7 in the 15 g/cc range...

As it stands, I will need shells after next season for sure... I am looking at Foxtrot TSS 2 3/4" shells in 1 5/8 oz #8's.

There will be adjustments to the color scheme(s) in the following weeks ...it takes a tremendous amount of coding and to get into it we have to have a solid 10 hour time-frame ...so a few weeks now to get it done right

The good news is that we performed several updates without a data loss

Go to your profile and click on "Look and Layout"

Then go to "Current Theme" and to the right of that you will see Forum or Board and click "Change" That will provide you with a drop down menu with I think 5 different choices.

I ha e hunted turkey for a while, just like some of you.

Deer have a lock down period, turkeys have do too.

One week and they will start back up, slowly, second week full force and walking. Third week petering out or done.

I have been from VA to WV, ND, WY. Everywhere I have been they have gobbled well.

Cycle of spring. Happens every year in the turkey woods.

Quote from: Sir-diealot on April 23, 2024, 08:26:03 PMDude that completely sucks, not only that is is happening but that you are the kind of guy that realizes it has to happen and are a good enough man not to hold something like that against them even though I am sure there is a part of you that wants to. I feel sorry for you. If it makes you feel any better my season is not looking much better, I was supposed to teach turkey hunting to has not contacted me and it is just 11 days away and I don't think the people that own the land I always hunt wants me there while I am on crutches and to be honest I can't blame them as they have no Ins. on the land. Hunting public is not an option for me as I can't leave stuff behind like my blind and I can't sit on the ground.
That sucks Steve. I admire you for sticking with it year after year, despite the obstacles you face. :icon_thumright:

Quote from: davisd9 on April 23, 2024, 08:32:22 PMJust hunt. The birds will get used to it. It will annoy you more than them.
Oh, trust me, I'm already annoyed!!
