Title: Remmy 870 20's at Wally World
Post by: bbcoach on July 08, 2020, 01:17:26 PM
I just  returned home from our hometown Wally World and got an eye full of 2 20 gauge Remmy 870's in the sporting goods section.  Good looking Mossy Oak camo and they were $363.  Very tempting to pull the trigger on the 20 gauge but I just can't since I have a lifetime supply of Hevi 7's for my 835 and she is a shooter.  Thought I would throw this out there for you guys thinking of a 20!

If I were looking to convert to a 20, an 870 would be under heavy consideration, particularly if it came with a barrel around 24" or so.

Everyone needs at least one back up gun, just in case something goes wrong with your primary gun. :icon_thumright:

then your back up gun becomes the primary and you then need a new back up gun.  ;)

Hard to argue that logic.

I believe it was Break up.  It's been a couple weeks since I saw them.  I'll try to check again to see if they are still available and check pattern.  I ordered my 835 from them 12 years ago from their catalog.  If your interested, ask the person in sporting goods for the Special Order catalog, they should be in there.  They normally can get you one in about 10 days.

I haven't seen a MossyOak pattern in the 870 20 ga compact except for pink. The only other available pattern to my knowledge is RealTree Hardwoods.

Finally got back to Wally World today and wanted to bring this topic back to the top.  They still had both 870 20's.  They were both chambered in 2 3/4 and 3 inch and the camo pattern is Realtree as Spurs Up stated.  Beautiful guns IMO.

Well........what are you waiting for?? You obviously want one, the price is right, and you only go around once! :jackson:

They are very tempting Turkeyrider but as I stated in an earlier post my 835 is a killing machine and I have a lifetime supply of Hevi 7's.  These shells are the ones that put up the 300-350 numbers.  I'll stick with my present setup.  With so many switching to TSS, I thought I would pass on an opportunity for a 20 at a decent price.

I bought one of these last spring.  Shoots just ok, but I was using a pile of the old Federal Heavyweight in size 7 and never could get it dialed in with the chokes I had.  Is really sweet to handle with its 21" barrel.   PS.  Did kill one bird with it at about 30 yards.
