Title: TK7 choke question
Post by: Whacker on May 03, 2020, 10:29:02 AM
I am seeing a few varying opinions....

Shooting a 20 ga 870, Kent TK7.

Thoughts shooting that load through a Primos Tightwad .570 or is that too tight of a choke for that load?

Haven't started pattening it yet.

Hoping to find a choke that will shoot both TK7 and Longbeard XR out to 40 yards.

Thanks.

I think .570 or a .575 would be a great place to start,I tried in .550 and believe it was a little blown but decent.I was told to try a .570-.575 from Kent themselves on the 20 gauge ammo,I will be testing it in those restrictions after season.

I've been reloading HW 7's recently and my buddy has been getting great groups with those shells from a Carlson's .575 and Rem SF tube. Might be worth a try.

I have the same gun, chokes and shells. It is a good place to start. I was happiest  with Hevi13 7's in the Carlson.
