Not a stupid question at all my friend. Frogwood is a compressed birch laminate. Comes in many different colors but this one is natural.

They won't. Got my hands on a frogwood prototype this spring from Mike, all feathers. I'm intrigued by this laminate for a box, it's super consistent with great roll over.
