Hooks jr.pro and manipulator.
I primarily use Hook's or Gooserbat calls... They are both affordable, but not made cheaply...
As far as the cuts of the calls, I tend to think that our own pallet and the manner we push air through them makes some calls horrible for some, and great for others...
Gooserbat, I like the Hillbilly and the Heckler..
Hook's I like the Player, and the Executioner 2...
I know, V-cut calls are not supposed to sound great, but they sound good to my ear... I record myself on all the calls, and decide which are easiest for me to play, and which sound best when played back....

Sadler mcgraw's pro combo cut
A big fan of David Halloran's TKO (total knock out) and Denny Gulvas's Master's Choice. Have been running those two calls for a few seasons now. :z-winnersmiley:

Get the mouth call mechanics kit and find out which kind of cut is the proper cut for you and then start buying a bunch after you know what is the right cut for you.

I love Bill's calls as well! He's a great guy- he sent a couple youth calls for free when I mentioned I had a 13 year old son.

Had my best luck using the Houndstooth KB Hen. Awesome batwing call!! Rolling Thunder Money Maker and Done Deal we're also great performers.
Gooserbat O.S.S. (Oh So Sweet). Finally found a mouth call that I can produce a very good yelp with. The birds here in Michigan have been digging it as well!
