I recently purchased a Legacy pointer phenoma semi-automatic in 12 gauge, got a whole mess of chokes for it ,and 3 loads I'm gonna be runnin' thru it and thought I'd get some opinions on combos or hopefully some experiences with a combo I've got. That said, I realize no two guns will shoot the same and that is especially in this case if no one has the same gun. But let's hear some comments just the same. Thanks EVERYONE and have a great season....if it hasn't already started!!!
Chokes are beretta/benelli-Mobil threads
IC .665
Trulock Original Federal Heavyweight #7 choke .650
Patternmaster code black .665
Carlson's long beard .650
Hevi-13 .656
TruGlo headbanger. 665
Ammo-ALL 3"
Original Federal Heavyweight #7s (15g/cc)
H-13 magblend 5,6,7 load
H-13 2oz. #6s
Eager to hear some opinions & experiences!!! :turkey2:
I would try the .650s with the HW 7s first...100%. Those wads work best with tight tight chokes in my experience. Or break out a .640 if you have one stashed away.
One other combo you might consider is a 2 3/4" 2oz TSS #9 load and a Kicks .655 (Mobilchoke thread pattern out of a Benelli M1 Super 90). 95%+ pattern efficiency.
429/258.
