Nice bunch of calls. That chestnut is that old wood that he built a few out of, I have a couple of those and some pots made out of it.

No Longboxes? He makes some very nice ones.

I agree. As simple as it is, some nice real dark Walnut is about as pretty as wood gets in my opinion. Sure there's tons of exotics that are exceptionally pretty, but a slab of some good Walnut is just a beautiful sight.

   Same here I think it was a barn from the built in the 1870s in Tennesee? I have a box and 2-3 strikers made from it, don't think i got any chesnut pots though.

It sounds very good. To my ear, the purpleheart lid boxes are a bit higher pitched than the walnut.
