Title: Pinhoti 2019
Post by: Gobble! on March 09, 2019, 08:18:47 PM
For anyone running behind Dave has two videos up. A youth day hunt and his opening day hunt so far.

I love his videos. Thats how turkey hunting should be. Not 10 minutes of hunting and 20 minutes of comercials.

His stuff is top notch, I've watched youth day. That was a awesome hunt. Planning to watch opening day tonight. Just got to get my kids in bed first.

I just heard about his videos earlier this week, so I'm currently stuck in March of 2018 still! Slowly plugging away. Awesome stuff!

Amen to that. Yes, he among a few others, have taken the hunting video to a new level that leaves everything we have been used to for so many years in the dust.

I love the Pinhoti Project. It looks like he has picked up Ol Tom as a sponsor. I think that's great and I hope it enables him to do what he loves. And on the other hand in general  once you get sponsors it's hard to be completely honest about products but Dave has never really talked much about products anyway.  I'm happy for him.  I really like the extra shots he added in like cooking and eating the ravioli around camp. And it was good to see Chubs again.

Watched the first one the other day. I'm gonna wait until he gets a few more out, before I watch any new ones, so I can binge. Once I start watching, it's hard to quit.

I didn't know he was sponsored. Figured it was just the accumulation of clothes as a serious turkey hunter after years and years.

Either way, his videos are hard to stop watching! I've watched them all and like someone said earlier, it sure is hard to watch any other turkey video now. Pinhoti is exactly what this sport needed, media-wise. Literally just about every video you watch now is the same exact thing with guys using fans to "reap" turkeys or a jake and hen decoy. Just the other day I saw a kid in a sportsmans warehouse buying a double bull blind and 3 avian x decoys. A jake and 2 hens. I'd bet good money it's because of what's in all the social media anymore. Sigh...

I better clarify, I don't know if he's officially sponsored or not. One of his new videos had an Ol Tom thing on the screen. I was just assuming. Dave also mentioned something about being able to hunt more this season so I'm guessing he's gotten some kind of financial help which is great. That equals more videos for us to watch!

The best turkey hunting media out there, period. I hope his sponsors enable him to continue turning out such quality material. Both of these first two 2019 hunts are top notch and I felt like I was right there with them. I believe The Pinhoti Project is about the last hope of saving the 'tradition' of the sport. I sincerely hope its popularity continues to rise and more people 'see the light'.

I think he will do just fine, like the hunting public guys who have a few sponsors if the intention stay true so does the content.

This!!!  All of them remind me of someone I know or have hunted with - real life stuff, real life hunts.  Down to earth guys - HAVING FUN DOING WHAT THEY LOVE.  Not all that mess you get with most of the outdoors media these days.

I hope he gets 10 sponsors and makes enough money to buy a tour bus like some of the tv hero's lol. As long as he keeps the hunting real and no stupid background music I don't care if he becomes a millionaire I'd rather see him getting paid than some tattooed douche bag hocking decoys and ozone machines.
Maybe people like Mossyoak will wake up and realize not everyone is ok with the way hunting is portrayed on video.

Truth...

Ordered mine as well. I only watch cove and the hunting public. I'm sure there are other good ones out there but I'm just glad to watch a turkey video where it's not a product pusher sitting in a blind behind a strutter decoy. There goes 99.9 percent of the videos. (Not that I have a problem with it. Just boring to me)

I love to see so many following Pinhoti and The Hunting Public. I write the tunes for THP and Dave has inspired a few of my best - neither show needs tunes but I'm grateful that THP uses em - and I'll keep getting inspired by these guys who used the products they promote LONG before being sponsored. They are all the real deal as Catman will tell you - who I love to watch too.

The one day I was really busy and couldn't check my phone much, the hats get posted. I think a pre order would do well.

The channels on YouTube like Dave's, THP, catman's, BRO, and hushin have made me quit watching the outdoor channel completely. The content is so much better.

Just came across his channel recently good videos you can definitely tell he values killing the bird over quality footage but enjoy the authenticity. Side note guy is an absolute killer its rare I watch hunting video and actually impressed with the hunter. Levi when he shoots a deer comes to mind and this guy calling turkeys.

Pretty much agree with whats been said. I think Dave's reworked videos are the most informative I have ever seen.

Chad Claycomb is on youtube now and I like his videos also. He also has a bunch of short videos (1 to 3 minutes) of hen, jake and gobbler talk and those are excellent for listening to real turkey talk.

Claycomb's recent "Sidehilling" video has some really neat hen talk. Its a spring hunt and there is a hen that has some great yelps, soft yelps & clucks, kee-kee's and she even gobbles quite a few times.

Starts somehwere around the 7:00 minute mark and goes for quite a while.

The new wave of hunting videos available on YouTube are awesome. I've hunted my whole life and still have learned so much about hunting on public land from the Pinhoti Project and The Hunting Public, especially turkey hunting, it's amazing. And now to add Chad Claycomb's videos to mix, wow. It's crazy and I hope they all keep them coming.

I'm craving some new content from pinhoti or the hunting public guys.   Next time I'll really be able to hunt is a week from today and I've got the itch bad!  Couldn't imagine how much more I'd want to chase these birds around if I hadn't gotten a Tom opening day.

Couple  of Florida hunts up now.
One of the reasons I like the Penhoti project  there showing the real public land hunting. They have struggled the last couple hunts but they keep grinding it out no doubt things will turn around soon. Just goes to show that even world class calling by experienced hunters doesn't guarantee success.
They could easily just not post the hard days and just show the kills but that's one of the things that make there show different.
Can't  help but laugh at ol  Chubs comments, you won't see hunting like this on TV .

I agree.  Any experienced turkey hunter knows the "hard times" that don't work out so well.  It's easy to relate to what's going on and actually makes for good entertainment because you know what he's going through.

It's hard to learn anything when everything goes right.  It's when they whip your butt that you learn the most.
