Title: “Better pattern”
Post by: Bowguy on February 25, 2019, 08:40:41 PM
I see lots of guys talk about better patterns. This might be confusing or misleading to some. Better is very subjective. To a 10 year old child ,better might be something he can hit with. Perhaps not even requiring a turkey choke.
To another better might be a scary tight pattern up close but impressive at 40 yards.
To the new folks deciding, make sure your pattern is best (better) for you and realize this may change in a year or so to something different

I like a good hunting pattern too

I'm a fan of a solid 10" and a nice even 20" halo at 40yds.  They're all tight at 20 and in.

My 20 gauge is in the 140's in the 10" and 240-250 in the 20".

When I shot 3.5" lead 6's it was 140's 10 and 300ish in the 20"

Hevi13 7's were around 270-300 in the 10 and 400-450 in the 20

I could have tighten the 10 up but I like the extra on the outside.  At 20 they all look the same.

Some are to tight wonder why they miss.
