Patterned my new 20 gauge 1187 with my 1 5/8 9s handloads and I'm super happy. Dont see my self toting a heavy 12 gauge again. All patterns at 40 yards. Have a trulock 585 coming to try also.

The superfull 572 is what I'll hunt with if the 585 doesn't work out but if itll do 300/230 or so that's what I'll be rolling with. These loads felt like a low brass bird shot even at 1175 fps. Theres no way I'll take the punishment from my 12 supermag again.
You dropped some coin on chokes to learn what I could have told you (after doing the same thing myself :D). That's my choice of hunting choke too for 1.625 oz of 9's and 9.5's.
Don't fire sell your 12's yet. You can achieve the same or better with a 1.625 oz 2-3/4" load out of a 12 ga. Same or lighter recoil depending on gun weight and generally lower pressures that allow margin for speeding up the loads (to 1250+ FPS).
I didn't spend a lot on chokes got a good deal on them. Been collecting for a while but this is my first pattern test I'm gonna try em all again to make sure. I'm hoping for 300/230 or around that and itll br the perfect huntin pattern. I been shooting 2.5 oz 8.5s in 12 gauge and it's a straight killer my buddy dropped a 200 pound boar with them this year while turkey hunting
NICE!!!

Let us know what the 585 does. I'm trying to decide what choke for federal tss #9.
Awesome patterns that's a headache for a turkey for sure
21" or 26" barrel?
Looks good, that LIL hammer has been responsible for at least 25 long beard's deaths in the past 4 years from me and my kids.. Great load...
Awesome to see patterns like that out of a factory choke.
