Title: Versamax and IC choke LB Magnums
Post by: Aurora Wild on June 08, 2018, 09:20:32 PM
Season is over but I finally got my hands on some 3 1/2" longbeard xr magnums. I shot a #5 and then a #4. Bore snake ran through bore before each shot. Lasered 40 yds

Looks like a nice, tight group!  How does that compare to what you were using before?

I have tried the 3 inch 1 3/4 oz load in number 5s. It put up right around 160 in the 10 and almost nothing around it. I tried the 3 1/2 inch 2 oz load in 5s as well. That put up 169 in the 10, still with not much outside the 10.

How does this compare to the factory turkey choke ?  I have been curios as there is only 0.05 difference I believe.

I don't think I tried the factory choke with this load. The IC perfomed better with Mag Blends and the high velocity Longbeards so I tried it first with this load, and stuck with it.
