I have I pot that Tony Reynolds built me in 2000, under the glass he wrote first feather assassin of the century #1 of 2000, I would say I have killed close to 40 birds with it.
Mine would be a Cody Envy Glass that I bought maybe 18-20 years ago. I haven't hunted it in probably 10 years but it has more kills to its credit than any other pot I own.
Perfection screaming demon then it died. Twisted sister now.
Eddie Wynne persimmon slate over glass with a persimmon striker. It killed 2 yesterday.

Mine is not cool. HS Strut Triple Glass. Has been the death of 90% of the birds I have called in for me and whole mess of the birds I have called for others. Only one I had for years and it was all I used - did not know any different. But the sounds are good and I have confidence in it.
An slate over wood in a spalted hackberry pot that my uncle made years ago. Gobblers can not resist this call.
Modern call would be Paul Platz glass over slate in a walnut pot.
A Knight & Hale Ultimate Series Aluminum. $11.99 on clearance at Walmart in 1998. Go figure. Other calls sound better to my ear, but that one brings me more feathers than all my rest put together!

I generally don't hunt the same calls for long periods of time because I am obsessed with trying new ones. That being said I have a Wynne Persimmon Slate that is racking up the kills rather quickly over the past 2 seasons.
I had a Ted 'Pete' Peters slate that was a great call years ago. Picked it up after a season and it the sound was gone, flat.
The deadliness of a pot has much to do with confidence... I'd say my deadliest pot is the one I hunt with the most confidence... could be any one of a handful of great sounding calls I have.

funny enough I too like my screaming demon the most. It has a tremendous range of versatility going from the softest tree yelps to the loudest raspiest cutts. I have a mountain of other calls from Lights Out, John Sinclair, and David Hollaran which are all excellent by themselves, but usually come the first day the SD is the first call out of my vest.

This is exactly right. That being said the bit I've used an Atomic 13 by Schafer has been incredibly good to me

My most deadly , I would have to say is my Eddie Wynn persimmon slate. Used it 3 times and killed 3 birds. I have a whole bunch of pots with a whole bunch of kills , but it stands out when you work 3 birds spaced out through the season with the same pot that you only pulled out of your vest 3 times and get 3 kills

That Platz cherry slate is a stone cold killer. Another one of my favorite calls is a lot less desirable to most, an Enticer Silver Thunder Extreme.

As crazy as it sounds, my most deadly has been a Primos Freak Frictionite. Something about that call the birds just love. Easy to get really soft on. To me all my custom calls sound better, but to the turkeys they seem to like that one the best.
Primos Power Crystal was and still is an amazing pot call to me. Definitely not the most expensive pot call I have, but it has done the job through the years~!
Crystal Mistress has called more birds to the gun for me that past several years, before that it was a beat up looking Lohman Thunder Dome that still occasionally gets some action.
One thing I have definitely observed over the last couple years is with the crystal mistress I have gotten way more interaction with hens than ever before, there's something about it.

I used to sell them for the guy that made them for Perfection. Gave an Original Demon to my buddy in NY nearly 20 years ago. You couldn't pry that call out of his hands. I couldn't even guess the amount of birds that died to that call.

I was stacking birds with my Power Crystal for a few years before suddenly last year it was out of the blue dead. I was actually quite upset about losing a known killer. I got over it by getting myself addicted to custom calls
I haven't found one yet. I bought my first Blackstone pots this year and really like them.

My Wynne Persimmon Slate laid down another victim this past Friday. This was a public land bird in Georgia. This call can get loud enough if needed but really shines in the soft talk department. My favorite thing to do with a wary bird is to cup it in the palm of my hand and call in the center of the pot. Soft clucks and purrs that are full of realism. That is what brought this old swamp gobbler in and away from the two hens at his side.

Not a slate guy but the sound file I heard and the feedback has been all positive so I placed an order for one figured if I'm ever going to carry a slate it might as well be a good one.

I have a Redbeard Ironwood 1 of 1 slate that has 23 marks on it. So that one is possibly the call that has been in on the most deaths. This year I have been hunting with a 2010 Jack Mincey Amboyna burl/ Walnut slate over glass that has been well received also.
Quite a few pot calls on the herd here of all different playing surfaces , but I prefer slate. To my hunting / playing style Slate is more forgiving and I can play soft or as loud as needed. I love a pot call.

I've got a purpleheart glass over acrylic that has been good to me.
I would have to say my ceramic call is the call I have had the best luck with since I been hunting or either my aluminum call but from others I would have to say Lonzo glass or Joseph Vaughn bronze glass call all have served me well
My go to call for many years was a Bruce Wurth walnut slate, first custom call I ever got. Great classic walnut slate sound.
Another for a Cody Spec I probably because my last bird came to that call.
Twisted sister has taken over as my most deadly pot. It's been the last sound about 15 gobblers have heard the last 3 seasons.
My Cody Spec 1 slate definitely has the most blood on it.

Osage Orange with a stoned aluminum surface. It is a one of a kind
as it slipped on the arbor and cracked the pedestal. Had to cut the aluminum to fit the oversize hole and didnt cut out back for slate calling surface. At lest one Bird of every sub species was killed with it during a 20 guage single season slam. Not to mention 8 south Georgia Easterns in 36 hours. Undeniable TKMF !

I bought a Hanks osage glass from midway...and I do believe I found one of my bee favorite hunting calls. That is a great call and sounds even better. Its glass over aluminum.
I have a growing collection of pot calls and you would be surprised at some of the calls that just have "that sound". I have a persimmon popper call from Lawsman that runs so smooth and sounds great. It's a great call and deserves woods time for the sounds it can make.
I swap calls throughout the season, just for a change usually.
That Hanks is quickly becoming a favorite amongst some of the high end calls. Its not the cost, it's all in the call itself. I never have notched or kept up with jlhow many a certain call has killed, but I have a couple of rut-n-strut calls that have called and killed loads of gobblers especially one 2 sider.
I answered Crystal Mistress in an earlier post. Filled my Michigan tag last Wednesday and have to say that this year the hot call for me was Enticer Silver Thunder Extreme Aluminum. Haven't used it much over the years because I have rarely hunted in wet conditions. My opener was last Monday and the forecast was for rain so broke out the Enticer the day before and practiced with it a bit so I would be ready on Monday. It did rain off and on on Monday so I used the Enticer for most of the day and really liked the sound I was getting from it. I did strike one gobbler late in the day and really had him fired up but there was a big swamp between his ridgetop and mine so I wasn't able to seal the deal. Wednesday the weather was beautiful so I cut out of work a couple hours early and went back to the same general area (on "his" side of the swamp this time) and decided to stick with the Enticer even thought the weather didn't require it. 45 minutes after getting set up I got a response to one of my calling sequences and 15 minutes later I had a nice 2 year old Michigan public land bird on the ground. Think it was probably the same bird as Monday as he gobbled hard every time he heard the call. Thanks Al for helping me get it done this year.
Twisted sister has been good to me for pot calls as well as a houndstooth ceramic but a scratch box has proven much deadlier for me I hardly run pots anymore

Interestingy enough, that call is my biggest surprise of the year as well.

Short story, Crystal Mistress !!
An old plastic green pot with aluminum on top & a smaller slate on back. Got it from an outfitter named Bill Cartwright years ago. I think Fear Not Calls makes one very similar to it but the aluminum is anodized. Mine is plain old silver aluminum.
I've got a couple that are really good. One is a Walnut pot, slate and glass sound board, the other is a purple heart pot, glass with acrylic sound board. I don't know which is really better.

My deadliest this season has been a Stumpy Walnut Ceramic.
Crystal mistress has been a killer but for some reason it has lost something this season. It's like it went flat not the piercing cuts and yelps it had. I will be replacing it before next year.
It has been really windy the last week and nothing has been working except the old yella hammer by knight and hale lol. I don't always carry it and hardly ever use it but when I find Gobblers that like it, it's a killer.Struck four Gobblers in the last 3 days and from first call to shot was less than 30 min for each one.

Lohman thunderdome in slate purchased in maybe 1998 with rosewood striker, and a Woodhaven cherry crystal with strike 3 birch flare-tip striker from 2015.
HS Strut Lil' Duece 2 with a acrylic or hickory striker. It has sealed the deal on many spring gobblers since I bought it in 1999 or 2000, can't remember how long I've had it. Dropped it on my basement floor and the glass separated from the slate, took it apart and reglued it and dropped it again a year or two later and the glass separated again. At this point it is staying as is, however it does rattle some when I'm walking. It helped me kill a bird yesterday morning.

Copper pot Call from Jessie Jefferson and a Apple wood and Black Mulberry call from Eric Crouse of Grizz Friction Wood Calls are what got me my first turkey on the 19th Second is not exactly a pot call but is a friction call. I was using one of Neal's diamond wood strikers on the copper call.
I have a few: Cody Spec One#168, bought it in 1994. Also Jimmy Schaefer Blue Mahoe Slate, and Glass. These are my go to's.

Spelled Graham. I knew the whole gang when they were "Custom Turkey Calls" and Jeff Split off on his own. They were one of the firsts to make glass surface calls. Jeff is making killer calls.
