Title: Saw first strutter in WNC
Post by: WNCTracker on February 22, 2018, 01:53:21 PM
Finally saw signs of the changing seasons and just like every year it instantaneously got my blood pumping, how about y'all?

I accidentally posted this in the roaring 20's page....

That's awesome, my blood will get pumping when I hear my first gobble.  I normally don't have turkeys where I hunt until about mid to late March, then just like every year they just show up.

Probably around St. Patrick's Day I'll head out in the woods and put my cameras up.  We've got so much water here now hopefully it comes down a lot before then.

I know I'm fired up and ready!  Wish spring would hurry up here in the North Midwest.

I've been seeing more and more in fields. Still flocked though. Saw about 25 in a flock on Saturday.

Saw em strutting yesterday March 17th in a field. Bunch old Toms together. However not finding much sign at all in the woods as far as scratching a go, allot of accounting not much sign at all.
