Title: Still need to hear
Post by: spurman on June 04, 2017, 10:45:10 AM
Well guys we may have won this thing except we had 2 big turkeys disqualified for pictures. I usually
don't say much about the photos unless others starts complaining. We do the best we can but it's hard to take good pictures by yourself trying to holding a tape a camera and the beard or spurs.

I still need to hear from a couple of guys before I post our final score.

Well it is what it is. I ain't gonna cry. I had fun and that's all this is supposed to be about. I did the best I could as a team mate and played the game straight up so I am good with however it turns out.

Ouch. I see you noted the one, who was the other? Just making sure it wasn't me because I didn't take a picture with the bird and my score sheet. I think what I did is acceptable.

Sorry to hear you guys had some birds disqualified over pictures.  Hopefully it was just the judges that questioned them and not other teams complaining over it, as long as rules were followed.  Congratulations on a great year and remember this is just a fun way to share the Spring with other hunters.

Do the judges look at all the pictures submitted before a winner is announced?

No bird for me this year. I called in 5 birds in the first week and a half of the season for family and friends. Was really looking forward to getting to hunt by myself the last few weeks of the season but work got crazy and I've been working 80 hour weeks since. Only had a few opportunities to hunt during that time and had some very close calls with some unlucky breaks. First season in over twenty years that I haven't gotten a bird, disappointed but blessed nonetheless. If I would have known work would be like this I wouldn't have taken up a spot on the team. Looks like there were some fine birds taken by you guys this year, fine job gents. Proud to be a part of the Widow Makers!
