Ok here it is.....this knife was made from a Nicholson flat file look close at the pic you can still see some of the original file edge on the top. I used Sambar Deer Antler for the handle with brass and plastic spacers. It measures 8-1/4" long with 4" of cutting edge. It is made in a Swedish style ... now here is the kicker......if you want this knife you have to guess exactly...let me repeat ...exactly where the brass came from, that I used as spacer material.....not the store where it came from....but the item used for re-purposing the brass. I will let the guessing go on till the 30th at Noon Central time.....after that it will be over. Only one guess...oh gee that sounds too hard ok...two guesses....and that is it. Post your reply and let's see who is gonna get this hunk of meat cutter ....good luck. pappy
 nope sorry
What a cool idea. And Beauty of a knife! I'm gonna guess
1. An old key?
2. Brass furniture tacks?

Beautiful knife
Old door hinges
Old door knob
nope on all of the guesses...this one is hard
1. Some type of brass plumbing piece, toilet or sink maybe.
2. Military buckle or buttons
Garden hose, nice knife for sure.
musical instrument (trumpet??)
or
candlestick
nope on all of the guesses again...please be more specific on your guess instead of a general one....I said (exactly) .....but noone has even come in the ball park yet.
1) brass scope rings (haven't seen these in quite a while)
2) brass off of a rifle, such as the Henry lever action 30-30 brass edition with octagon barrel (best saddle gun that my father has been using for years)
She's a beaut. I'll guess brass candle sticks from the 1800's or an antique door knocker................Did I win?
I'll take a shot. The brass is either from an old spittoon or it's an old brass concho. Beautiful knife sir!

A brass key hole from a door or drawer, second guess is a spacer for a walking cane?
you all put a lot of thought into your guesses...but noone yet has gotten even close.....you have 1 hour & 15 minutes left....
Brass from a High Voltage electric fuse cutout switch.
I missed the time cutoff, but I'm really curious as to what it was? :z-guntootsmiley:
well folks the time is up...I used the brass wings off of a set of wall decoration ducks from Home Interior......(http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r646/pappyscalls/ssssssskkkk_zpsrhihped1.jpg) (http://s1360.photobucket.com/user/pappyscalls/media/ssssssskkkk_zpsrhihped1.jpg.html)
just don't tell my wife.......
who'd a thunk!
I almost guessed that... If only I had one more guess. NOT!!!!! I think the chances of anyone getting that we slim to none. Oh well.

pappy did say, knife give away. MAYBE.........
I am a person who loves to re-purpose things. That is why I have started making knives. Remember waste not want not? Well, that is so true, so much is just plain old wasted in today's world. And I am also a man of my word, so sorry that noone guessed what the spacers were made from, so sorry I will come back later on with a true give away....a knife made from an old Nicholson file with re-purposed handles and steel for the guard....as soon as it is finished I will post the give away and this time maybe...LOL...not make it so hard. :z-winnersmiley:
I share your love to repurpose. The item has more meaning and a story to go along with it. I've been woodworking and woodcrafting for a decade and never bought one board. Old mantles, 100 year old houses with chestnut interiors, barns etc. just made my buddy a deer rack plaque out of a broken 75 yr old headboard.

I agree too much out there to have to always hit the lumber yard or those Home Depo types retail stores. I used to buy most everything, but that was when you could afford to, prices have sky rocketed by over 750% over the past ten years, that is why you see the pricing of items made go along for the ride, makers cost dictate makers pricing, i AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO VISIT THE SCRAP YARDS AND JUNK PILES AND DUMPSTERS AND ROAD SIDE CURBS it only makes sense to reuse what is available ... and like you said, think of the history that is put into something re-purposed...
It is brass used that was left over from your 3 flying loon carvings.
maybe from brass washers/. right sized with hole already there for tand
