Browning Nickel Plated Lead is now offered in 12, 16 and 20 gauge loads in #5 and #6 shot in both 2-3/4" and 3". The nickel plating is what initially caught my interest.
I'm sure those are excellent pheasant shells, not so much for turkeys. Nickel plating is great; slightly harder than Copper plated, all else being equal. But Ni plating can not make up for the lack of buffer. A buffered CP load will out-pattern a non-buffered NP load every time. But for their stated purpose (upland), they should be excellent.
Thats right nickel and copper plated shot kill just as well as plain lead. No better and no worse.
