Post by: slicksbeagles1 on April 27, 2012, 02:05:42 PM
Guys after reading post about Mr. Sneed's calls I called him and ordered 3 hot hen calls. It was a joy to talk to Mr. Sneed and you can tell he his a true outdoorsman, hunter, and craftsman. I received my calls yesterday and man they are awesome Mr. Sneed knows what he his doing. I have to call him and talk to him again to tell him thanks and order some of his other calls I would like to have one of everthing he makes.  :funnyturkey: Lonnie Sneed Sr. 304-425-3021

How does Lonnie take orders and payment?  Is it all by phone and snell mail?  I haven't found a website for orders and payment.

Hey, Lonnie, Jr., you need to help him out and set up a website to help feed all the internet referrals.

Mr. Sneed is an amazing man just ordered a green glass and aluminum call. give him a call and give his calls a try. Oh I forgot he has had eye surgery and is recovering. I wish him a speedy recovery. Keith

Thanks for hearing good things about my dad. He is a good man and tries very hard to make each call better than the one before. Dad does not do computers and I am not much better at it. I have seen him make a call, give it time to dry a day or two and if it did not sound like he thought it should he would tear it apart. The only way to get in touch with dad is to call or mail him. He is old school ( phone and mail)

He killed a big gobbler the other day shooting left hand and using his left eye. He has been hunting everyday and hunting to quiting time, 1:00 p.m. He is 75 now and the last 2 mornings he is walking about 2 miles trying to kill a big gobbler he located the day he killed his. He seen it the day he killed his, but he had the one he killed and could not try this one. He passed on 3 Jake's yesterday.

Anyway back to the calls, try him about 4 or 5 p.m. He takes a nape when he gets home. I wish I could but I have to go work 10hr. before I go home. This job is interfearing with my life lol,  Thanks for the kind words about my dad. His # 304-425-3021

Your dad is a awesome gentleman  to talk to.. We talked for over a half an hour when I ordered my hot hen slate {last year}  and boy he sure can play a call.. that hot hen slate is always the first call I run... gonna have to give him another call and get one of those new green glass calls...{the smaller one} a friend of mine has one that he played for me and I am not sure but it might of sounded better than the hot hen... if thats possible.. they are real turkey killers. :icon_thumright:

For those of you who have this Hot Hen slate call,  is there a particular kind of wood for the pot and striker that you like the best or does he just use on type??

Yes,  I have three of his hot hen slates a sassfrass,  a cedar and my favorite a two piece I believe either chestnut over a glued piece of poplar on bottom or a cedar over glued poplar on bottom,  that one is my favorite and its in a smaller sized pot then the other two.  All three sound really good but the two piece is my favorite.  Scoot

Mr sneed will play them over the phone for you to decide which one you like the sound of. Mine is red cedar paired with a oak striker. Sounds great.
