I feel that many many callers are missing this. It is a must have to become a comp caller.

I believe that all hens have at least a little rollover, most start out high end medium or low. Add some realism to your calling with the high front end!
That is a great video by Scott. I is a tough thing to master, but he does a great job explaining it. I have that video as one of my favorites.

The clear front end is tough for me. I struggle with getting a non raspy sound out of any of my mouth calls. A high pitch isn't a problem, just getting it clear.

Glad I am not alone. I have called in a lot of turkey with my mouth calls though, so I am not too worried.

This is great... I have very basic abilities when it comes to using a mouth call, but really would like to get better with one.
I own several "mouth call 101" style instructional videos, which while they offer a good starting place, never seem to get beyond the basics. Unfortunately, other than these types of videos, I don't have access to someone that can personally offer guidance along the way, and I fear that in my self-teaching process, I've picked up a few bad habits that will be tough to break.
I just ordered a copy of Scott's DVD... I have no doubt that there's no one better suited to put together a video that will help me get out the basic mouth calling rut that I've found myself stuck in.

I thought I would bring his back up with a question or you guys........
Are there certain calls, cuts, reed count or general tension that lend themselves to helping learn to perfect this high clean front end of the yelp. Th rasp seems to come easy, it's the high end front that is so darn elusive. I found one call that was easier for me.....3 reed combo cut with a what I would call medium to light stretch. The call stretched out on me and now I can't find that front end again.
Please help a Brother out!
Scott is a great guy who takes pride in teaching others. His youtube videos have helped out tremendously with my calling. I purchased a woodhaven Red Raspy Reactor yestday and will be buying his video next. His cutting is amazing and I will not stop until I get my cut to sound similar to his. I just hope the other drivers on the road don't think i am clinically insane on my way to work.. I mean what else is there to do with a 45 minute commute. :funnyturkey:
