Okay GOATS! At the risk of discouraging all other teams from participating in The Contest since it will become apparent to them right away that they are all LOSERS!!...I am putting up this thread so we can begin our unceasing harassment of those other LOSER Teams.

Our goal is just to keep the majority of this ship above water and if we try real hard we may be able to slide in one notch above last place. In all honesty the goal of this team is to have fun, harass everyone and enjoy the spring season to the fullest. That includes all the other teams. Whoever wins it, wins it. We have elected Gobblenut as captain so you know we are already playing dangerously.

For a second i thought that was the biggest turkey i had ever seen! Oh well this ain't the first time my good looks have emptied a room. Usually there is more yelling and screaming on the stampede out the door though. I figure everyone is busy working on their alibis now, the confident ones may be plotting their backup plan F. We "THE GOATS" held our first team meeting yesterday at my house. Naturally we broke out some calls and started showing why we are considered THE GOATS! We are having our next meeting at somebody else's house. I'll get my window fixed Monday.

I wish we had known he could drive. We were looking for a good driver to chauffeur us around in our camo limo. We just assumed since none of you can properly operate a turkey call then none of y'all had the motor skills to operate a vehicle. Instead of driving Miss Daisy he could have been driving THE GOATS! Much more impressive on the resume.

Judging from the extremly high level of physical fitness i have seen on old gobbler. I think a field baited with oatmeal cream pies would attract more turkey hunters than turkeys. The only way a turkey is dying is in hand to hand combat for the last one

I worked my butt off for that one. Chased him all season. Bird was psychotic. He was easy to spot because his beard stuck out. I figured it was the way he was roosting. I named him crooked beard. A saved my last tag for him. I made a quick late day hunt and spotted him. He continuously moved roosting spots over a 100 acre area. On that evening I was content to watch him go to roost from several hundred yards away. I called one of my co-workers and asked him to go in and open in the morning, I was going after a bird. I had tried everything on this bird. With and without dekes, silent treatment and anything else legal and ethical you can imagine. On the few times I tried dekes and would start coming then hang up out of range waiting for the deke to come to him. On the morning I killed him I knew very close to where he was roosted. I put out a hen decoy on my south side and knew that the bird was on my north side. At daylight I hit a call a few times and he gobbled. He knew there was supposed to be a hen down the field. He started coming then stopped and drummed a little then started for the deke. I had calculated correctly and he stopped right in front of me. I already had my gun raised. If there was ever a facial expression on a bird this one had one. He all of the sudden turned his head towards me and said oh no! Too late. POW

I'm curious, how many of our team are new to this contest, as in never competed in it? I think there's some unknown qualities or minuses here. We really don't know if us newbies are heroes or zeroes, But I got this feeling deep down in my belly that the G.O.A.T.S. will be just fine. We will just see where it all ends come June sometime.
As for me I am new and I have no idea why I was even asked....I'm definitely a zero. How are those jakes scored again? So you big time ( Tom Bradys of turkey hunting) boys be kind to us old wannabees,OK. We should be allowed just a little glory before we die old and bitter.

Played for years. The main thing is getting birds posted correctly. I think we will be fine.

I was on my way to our second team meeting of THE GOATS today, I was practicing my calls in the truck on the way because I didn't want to be "that guy". I really need to keep my windows rolled up while practicing. Come to find out, other team members had the same issue.

I don't know if we want to go down that Rabbit hole. We all will probably get some thumbs downs I will just say for a fact that what you see on the score is less than reality. May be that way for your team as well and it may be best just to leave it that way.

We don't see a whole lot of turtles up here. On one of my buddy's properties, he has lots of turtles, and turkeys. Some of them are very big turkeys. I have never killed a turkey on my buddy's property. This year after I help him I just might have to. The last gobbler I killed was a big turkey for up here on the big woods public land in the mountains. Down there he would be an average turkey.

Somebody say something about turtles? Here is a sample of what happens when your kids want turtles when they are little (30+ years ago). A couple of turtles turns into a pile of turtles pretty quickly. Let's just say they are like rabbits in that regard. This picture is just a few of what live in our backyard... :D

I never realized how red goat ugly some of our competitors are. Holy Smoke! Old RutnNStrutn could make a fright train take a dirt road. Poor old Zelmo1 is so ugly that he has to sneak up on a mirror. Yes the Old Goats are the most beautiful turkey team. Facts.
