Title: Beretta AL390 Silver Mallard
Post by: Captain Jim on February 12, 2022, 10:08:16 PM
First post, looking forward to learning some new things.
I have two AL390's one 12 guage and one 20 gauge both with 28" barrels.
I've been using a modified choke with steel 3's (cant use lead in California) but its time to make them more versatile...killed plenty of turkey's with them but a longer shot opportunity would be nice.
Does anyone have a recommendation on choke tube/ammo combo's for these guns ?
Thanks !!

I have a 390 12gauge that loves Indian Creek .665 and Hvy 13 #6 2oz. I have a 20ga 3901 with Carlson's.575 choke, shoots TSS with devastating patterns. Both easily dust gobblers out to 40 yards. Probably further, but I like to call em in close.

X2  665 ICC is great on longer shots

I agree with above post an Indian Creek .665 and some Hevi-13 . The steel shot looses pattern and velocity fast. Don't let the small shot fool you, it's devastating and no where to hide In pattern.
