Title: Henry Single Shot
Post by: Will on June 09, 2021, 05:38:13 PM
Curious if anyone has a Henry single shot 12 or 20? Thinking on the 20 as a different option. They are sharp looking and reminiscent of the older H&R single shot. I still have my H&R from when I was a kid in a fixed full choke. That gun was the death of many squirrels.

I looked at one for a little while. Gorgeous gun. Handled it a good bit. My takeaway was that they were too heavy. Think they're about seven pound guns. I don't remember the 20's length, if it might have been shorter, but I do also recall the 12 being a little too long for my liking and only being available in that longer length, maybe 28".

I've considered one as well. My question is are the designed to shoot where the bead is aiming or above that like a lot of shotguns?

I was thinking they had problems with some miss firing

If your talking Henry, I'm not sure.

This is true from my experience. I have a 20 slug H&R. And it just happened this season to me. Luckily I was on the shooting bench. Apparently there's talk of a new spring and the problem is solved. I'm hoping that is all.

I hope to get one in 20ga. as I'm on the email list at my local farm n barn store when they come back in stock. Made in USA and Lifetime warranty is what caught my fancy. Always wanted a H&R 20 ga. Slug gun for Deer, but backed out cause I heard they were too lightweight and kicked like a Mule.

Love my Henry 20 gauge. My go to shotgun, doubt I'll ever pull any of my others out of the safe.
