Post by: JodyPenny on April 22, 2021, 07:55:36 AM
What would be the best way to mount a red dot on my new over under?

I think most guys are using the meadow creek rib mount.  May depend on type of red dot you are using.

you can drill and tap it with our mount or burris.

^^^^The above mount may be the one I have seen on guns that guys have posted too.  I just assumed it was a meadow creek.  My sumtoy mount is top notch.

If you don't want to use any mount, or drill and tap, Aimpoint makes a high quality Red dot that mounts directly on any vent rib right out of the box. It is the Aimpoint Micro- S. A bit pricey, but mounts low right on the rib. The Army uses Aimpoint. Reliable, battery lasts forever, and has a lot of brightness adjustment. Has a 6 MOA size Red dot. I love mine. You can put it on any rib. Very well made.....good luck....

Had Sumtoy drill and tap. Then bedded. Placement is where I can reach huttons while gripping forearm. There are several companies making rib mounts for red dots. Sumtoy, bedded, is the strongest.
