At age 20 finally went turkey hunting with me. She's never showed any interest in hunting of any kind. I think she went just to get me to shut up but as the date got closer she started buying camo, took a day off work and then started wearing her camo around the house posing it.
Fast forward to this morning and it was cool and wet. We sat in the truck and glasses from a hill with a window down. At about 8:00 I heard one gobble to the north. At 9:15 this guy makes his way into a field from the east and set up shop at about a 3/4 mile. We drove around to position ourselves at about half the distance and for an easier walk. We cut the distance to about 300 yards from his last known location. Two yelps and he gobbled. He came in pretty easy and at 35 yards she hit him with a KO.
Now she's a club member... And said she would do it again.
