The eye area is not an oval as shown in second picture, it is open and connects to the hats instead of being a hole. Mine is the one that connects to the hat.
Here this pic shows what I mean.
The first pic.... opening connects to hat.

I agree, just wish they had attached it about a 1/8-1/2 inch further back, I wear very large framed glasses. Very nice setup, my noggin is just to big.
