Title: Rem 870 SM, 23 inch Barrel... jellyhead .660 with Longbeard #5 shot 1 7/8oz
Post by: clfergus on April 14, 2016, 10:07:06 AM
Finally got to pattern my gun in that built from an old 870 express. Added a Shur-shot stock, 23 inch turkey barrel with fiber optics sights and a jellyhead .660 choke.

I only had an indoor range accessible to get an idea on what it would do with the longbeard 5 shot, 1 7/8 oz load. Range was 30 yards indoor. First shot was a little low and right, over corrected windage on shot 2. Shot 3 looked pretty good after i went up and over again.

The 1 7/8 OZ shot worked much better in my Jellyhead than the other option they have in 5 shot. Maybe it was 1 3/4, but 1 7/8 worked great for me.
