Most of you over the years come across a one box call that is just better to you than the rest. If u have list the call below
A lynch deluxe foolproof Eastern 2003 version. The sexiest one I have is a marlin Watkins bloodwood over apple.. I take one of those 2 every time I go.
To my ears it's my Watkins purpleheart over sycamore but we will see what the birds think this spring. Last year it was my Watkins bloodwood over butternut.
Albert Paul Henry Davis Ebony over Holly.
Turpin style - Doug Morgan Orange Agate over Sassafras
Cost style - David Halloran Macassar Ebony over Walnut
I've hunted the Morgan box and it's turkey approved. Got the Halloran after last season so time will tell but I bet it'll be well received as well.
Marlin Watkins mora/wormy butternut
Richard hudson hen box. Snakewood over English walnut.
probably my Doug Camp box
Billy Bush Begging Machine.
Dan Wittenberg long box in cedar over Sitka Spruce
Marlin Watkins ipe over pecan
Probably Frank Kruer Persimmon/ black limba or Marlin Watkins Mac ebony/ butternut.
Mike Lapp Walnut/ poplar short box.
Scott Basehore poplar/ cherry long box.
A rose wood for the striker / MINERIZED poplar box
Lancaster Jatoba/Holly.
Dawkins walnut over mahogany
It is a toss-up for me. Doug Camp, or Moss double tone custom. If I have worked a Gobbler and, did not connect, next attempt will be with the other. A completely different tone and sound effects.

Richard hudson hen box. Snakewood over English walnut.
I am fond of those henbox sounds myself Hudson or Fulkerson you can't go wrong , along with a few others I have heard recently Russell Beard has a nice one as well. They all have that killer backend.

Richard Hudson hen box, Macassar Ebony over English Walnut
The one I carried most last year was my Albert Paul pocket call made of walnut over heart pine. That's at least partially a sentimental choice since the heart pine was salvaged from the old Union Station passenger shed in Nashville where my great great grandfather worked. It's pictured below with his lantern.

Steve Mann long box
Dixie Darling tulip wood over walnut short box
As crazy as it sounds...
My very first turkey call, bought for me by my dad when I was a kid at the Turkeyrama in Perry, Ga. Made by a company called "Critter Git'r". I have calls from a lot of the big guys and yet this is still my favorite. Maybe it's just sentimental but it's pure turkey.
Call on the far left (or bottom since the pic won't rotate >:().
The only one I own. An old primos box cutter or something like that. It's never been to the woods.
All of mine that were made by Lonnie Mabry
A Full Choke, Sycamore over sycamore. Lots of harvests with this Ferocious call. Many calls fall short of keeping my penned Easterns attention very long. This one does not.
Mike Lapp short box Yellow heart over Black Limba is always in my vest.
I can't choose just one.
Albert Paul walnut/poplar
SS kiwila/butternut
Spring creek cherry/poplar

Awarded the "Most Unique Wood Combo of the Year" award !!!
I wonder where the heck Marlin came up with a hunk of monkey puzzle ???? That's VERY hard to come by stuff.
I have 3 Boxes that I hunt with all of them are Scott's Cutters made by Mr. Jack Scott. I have Holy , Sassafras, and China Berry. All of them are proven killers.
I just got a Mike Lapp coyotewood over sycamore that's phenomenal sounding to me. The turkeys in the fall liked it a lot also...
