I'm considering heading to NE turkey hunting this coming week (later part of May). I would expect quite a few of the hens ought to be nexting by now? I am curious what I should expect in late May and if there are any particular tactics that may work better than others that are different earlier in the spring? I would expect toms may be wandering around alone a little more searching for some last minute hens? Any suggestions would be well appreciated!
Imo cover ground til you find a bird. If you do, he will probably be hot and may come marching in. The tough part is finding a vocal bird. Wear good boots!
