While it may be true these markets have been around for a 1000 years rapid world wide travel has only been around for about 50 to 60 years. Several years ago there was a presentation on a world wide pandemic and they talked about a person leaving a hot zone infected by a contagious infection could be any where in the world in under 24 hours. In the process going through one or more major airports coming in contact with thousands of people who headed to multiple destination. There is also a contagious factor used in the spread of virus's, called RO or R aught, which calculates the rate of spread. So if the RO is 3, then those 3 contact 3 so the infection is 9, and so on, in 15 days the infection is in the millions. There is calls to shut these "wet" markets down because there are other virus outbreaks that have been traced back to then as the origin. The other factor is the level of health inspection these market may or may not receive.

I completely agree with that presentation and I actually think I have seen it, or one much like it. I still do not believe it is the wet market that started it though, Wuhan has several biologic research facilities in that area and I think it is much more likely to have been a man made virus that "escaped" from one of those facilities. Come to think of it there was a movie in the late 70's or early 80's that dealt with somebody carrying and infecting people through mass transport, kinda prophetic.

I agree completely about the public not being told the truth, I do not for one instant believe that it is a naturally occurring virus, if they did tell the truth about it the repercussions on China would be devastating. I do feel that they should have to play some sort of I don't even know what word to use, fine I guess to all other countries that have been suffering because of this because they lied in the beginning about how bad it was/is.

I spoke with Pete last week or the week before and he still did not know if our wonderful dictator was going to allow him to have it.
He is still getting things set hoping it will still go on but he is not selling tickets yet as he does not want to go through the hassle of having to send all the money back if it is canceled.
I am sorry I do not have a better answer for you, I am still hoping and saving money like it is going to happen. I will update this as soon as I know more.
I talked to Pete last week too. Told me pretty much the same. I'm from Florida so I'm on Comrade Cuomos quarantine state. I'm pretty sure his Jack Booted Thugs won't be picking me up at the airport.

It was nice meeting you there last year, wish we had had some more time to talk but we were both trying to find stuff. I am kicking around the idea of a fall hunt with them or somebody else that does dogs, sounds like it could be a neat new experience, if I do do it it will not be til 2022 though.

I had a pretty bad feeling that this was going to happen, hard to put an event on with the short notice he was going to have to let people come. Perhaps, but I fear that if it comes to pieces being bid on from him I will not even be in the ball park, what I have seen sell on ebay of his tends to go for much more than he asks at the shows. You never know though.

x2 Tell him what you're looking for sound wise and he'll get you hooked up. He'll have plenty to sell he would've taken to the show that probably won't make auction, I'd imagine they won't have a whole ton of listings, but then again maybe they will? Either way, he's making calls and selling them still without much if any wait if he has some ready.

Money I have saved up is all to be released the week of that event, I will have to wait until then, I set it up that way so I would have at least some money to go to the event with.

As I stated above I can do that but not until the week the event was set to take place, The person I drive for worked with me to hold any pay I get until that week and to ask him for it early would mess him up so I have to wait.
To be honest I am still new enough at this that I simply do not know what sound it is that I want, that is where the event is a big help, you get to handle and play so many difference calls, each sounding and feeling different in the hand. I was also not sure if I was going to get a one sider or a fiddle box, I wanted to handle those because of my hand issues. I think I will have to go with a fiddle box this year, never played a one sider before.
Gonna miss seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I was really looking forward to this event to get out of the "Lockdown Funk", lol.
Very good friend of mine's daughter is a nurse in a hospital here in the populated SE Pa. She said they haven't had a Coronavirus patient in a month. That doesn't correlate to what we hear on the news. Hard to know what to believe anymore.

This year my work schedule had me off that weekend, but I figured this virus stuff might shut it down. Sure enough ...
Maybe my schedule will work out for unicoi. Hope to meet some of you guys at some point.
