Highland sports made the original. With no package it would be very hard to tell. The original and current knurling on the end of the choke look identical to me. There was a model in between these 2 models that had straight knurling instead of checkered. That's the best i can describe the differences.
I was just curious because i have an original i want to try with long beards this weekend.

I could finally see that picture. That is the model in between the original and the current one. I believe yours was labeled the preston pittman model.
